February 2020 News

Our breakfast will mark the centenary of John Alker's Death. The hall was built in his memory by his wife.

On the day we will have special guest,

The High Sheriff of Greater Manchester and

The Mayor of Trafford who will be reading a poem.

We will be having the last post at 11am and will be joined by members of the Cheshire Bugles and Drums.  The Tactical Coffee Company will also be joining us with a range of coffees to buy on the day. There will also be a couple of military vehicles.

We are asking the people who attend to be suited and booted or smart casual, wear your medals with pride.

Hope to see you on the 22nd to mark this occasion.

On the 11 February, our Walking Football Team were invited to The Manchester City Stadium with Manchester City in the Community to play against there Walking Football Team.

Due to a change of plan we played their Amputee Team, some of the players play for England.  We played normal football against them and to start with most of our players found it a bit strange but they soon showed us we had nothing to worry about.

We lost 11-6 but what an inspiration the Amputee side were showing that sport holds no barriers.
Huge thank you Paul for the invite. ⚽

Our first outing in our new mini bus was a complete success and enjoyed by all that went on our first trip out.  We had a full mini bus and went to  Rossendale Breakfast and we all arrived safe and sound thanks to our Driver Chris.

A fantastic thank you to our hosts.
